Description
Green Tara is the incarnation of Guanyin. According to "The Origin of Tara", Guanyin saw sentient beings suffer and shed tears, which turned into lotus flowers and became Green Tara. She swore to help Guanyin save sentient beings. According to legend, Princess Wencheng was her incarnation. After the death of Songtsen Gampo, she transformed into a green lotus and appeared as a green Tara. She symbolizes compassion and strength, saving sentient beings and upholding Buddhism.
